1928. Amsterdam. India's hockey team took the Olympic field for the first time and left with gold, the first of eight they would claim over the next five decades, a run of dominance that remains one of sport's great untold stories. The Turf Olive is built in that colour: the exact shade of the grass they conquered, rendered in olive suede and off white leather on a vintage runner silhouette that wears the year on its chest.
The Phulkari embroidery running through the design is no coincidence. Punjab, the heartland of that era's hockey culture, has its own centuries old tradition of geometric threadwork in vivid colour. Here it sits alongside the gold embroidered '1928' as a quiet acknowledgement of where those players came from.
